Samsung Unveils Rival to Apples Ipad
The new Galaxy Tab unvailed by Samsung in a bid to rival the iPad.
Samsung have entered the tablet PC market by unavailing their Galaxy Tab.
“The device will offer users ‘a new galaxy of possibilities’”
Thomas Richter Samsung’s European Executive was quoted as saying.
Specifications
The device will run off Android 2.2.
It has a 7 inch touch screen and weighs in at just over 13oz. Making it smaller and lighter than the iPad.
The main problem with it is that there are no dedicated tablet PC apps available o Android market yet so what you get you can get on an Android based phone with is a lot more compact and inevitably cheaper. But as it is a new device then give it a bit of time and there will be apps made pacifically for it.
Its small size is also a limiting factor in what it can do as some apps like the magazine reader need adjusting so the text can be read.
It will be available to by starting sometime next month.
The question is how much will they cost.
Some estimate they will be coming in at over £600.
